I am based in Gisborne, New Zealand and am available for Marriage and Civil Union ceremonies throughout the Gisborne, East Coast, Mahia and Wairoa Districts. I can also take vow renewals and commitment ceremonies.

The celebrant and ceremony are a vital part of any wedding or civil union because without the process contained within the ceremony, it really is just a great, big, fabulous party! It is the ceremony that results in you being married. Choosing to have a celebrant officiate your ceremony means you can enjoy the opportunity to really take ownership and have input every step of the way, if you wish.
There is not the same demanding social expectation to marry these days so when a couple makes this decision, to commit publicly and permanently to each other, it is a moment to be acknowledged and honoured.
A wedding ceremony should definitely be fun, but it should also have those special moments of solemnity that give credibility to the real meaning behind what has brought the two of you to this point. Every couple is unique and has their own story, so the ceremony should reflect this. My role is to support you to achieve just that, in a simple and stress-free way...the goal is for you to enjoy 'your day, your way!'

The process I like to follow begins with a chat over the phone and then, if possible, a meeting in person to discuss your wedding. This meeting comes with no obligations...it is simply a chance to meet if we haven't before. From there, if you wish to book me as your celebrant, we can work back and forth via phone and email to create your perfect personalised ceremony.

My celebrant's fee includes our initial meeting, the writing of your own unique ceremony, attendance at your rehearsal and of course the conducting of your wedding or civil union. I take care of all the paper work afterwards and will give you a printed copy of your ceremony to have as a keepsake. The fee also covers mileage if you are within a 50km round trip of Gisborne city centre. Anything further I many ask for a donation, but every couples' needs are different so this can be discussed further.
